Man Arrested With Human Skull In Ogun (See Photos)


A suspected ritualist, Lucien Tosume, has been arrested with a human skull in Lagos.

He was arrested at Iraye Village, Shagamu last week, following a tip off, police spokesman, Olarinde Famous-Cole, said in a statement.

Famous-Cole, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), said the suspect specialized in the sale of human skull, adding that detectives on a decoy mission accosted him.

He said: “Upon negotiation, the suspect agreed to sell a skull for N150,000, but the officers convinced him to sell it for N81,000 which he agreed to. The suspect was arrested immediately the money was paid to him. He confessed to the crime and disclosed that he sold fresh skulls for as much as N1 million. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain where he got the human part.”

According to Famous-Cole, the suspect will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, for further investigation.

He urged parents to look after their children and know their whereabouts at all times.

The spokesman also confirmed the arrest of six suspected armed robbers – Lawal Sikini, Segun Seda, Lanre Bello, Lawal Mayowa, Azeez Mustapha and Tijani Quryum.

They were caught on Monday.

He said the suspects usually terrorized motorists and residents of Agbara in Lagos and Atan-Ota in Ogun.

Famous-Cole said patrol team from the command sighted the suspects at Progress Hotel, Agbara, at 5:45 a.m. on Monday.


He added: “These hoodlums specialised in armed robbery, snatching of vehicles, snatching of handbags and other valuables from their victims. The police operatives swiftly moved to the scene and apprehended the hoodlums. One knife, a locally made pistol and one live cartridge were recovered from the gang.

“A green Peugeot 206 with no registration number that they used for robbery between Lagos and Ogun States was also recovered.

“The suspects have made confessional statements and are giving useful information to the police. Investigation is ongoing and effort is on to arrest other gang members.”
